The Proposed Development

The locations of the proposed wind turbines, and all other proposed infrastructure locations will be informed by rigorous site investigations and assessments carried out over a two-year period including:

  • Ecological surveys

  • Ornithological surveys

  • Hydrological and geological site investigations

  • Flood modelling

  • Archaeological surveys

  • Shadow flicker modelling

  • Noise modelling

  • Landscape and visual assessment

Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR)

The planning application for the proposed development will be accompanied by an EIAR. The EIAR is a detailed environmental report, which forms part of the planning application, and assesses the potential effects of the wind farm under headings such as:

  • Population & Human Health

  • Biodiversity

  • Soils & Geology

  • Water

  • Noise & Vibration

  • Air Quality & Climate

  • Landscape & Visual

  • Traffic & Transportation

  • Culture & Heritage

Seskin Renewable Energy Limited have submitted planning applications to Laois and Kilkenny Councils as of the 9th of July 2025.

Members of the community can make submissions to the planning authorities during the assigned public consultation period (up to the 12th of August 2025).
